Kellogg House
The 1898 Kellogg House is the focal point
of the Heritage Museum. Inside you will find unique architectural features,
antique furnishings, historic photos and maps, and hands-on activities for
children. The tour is primarily self-guided, but a docent is always available
during Public Hours
to answer questions and provide additional insights into the house, the
Kellogg family, and life in historic Orange County. Come on in! More

Maag House
The Maag House, completed in 1899, was the
ranch house of citrus and nut grower John Anton Maag and his family. The
exterior of the house, which has recently undergone a major facelift, displays
a number of interesting architectural details. The interior has yet to be
restored. Two other buildings from the Maag Ranch are nearby property. The
water tower, which used to provide running water to the estate, now houses
a small gift shop that can be opened on request. Across the main walkway,
the carriage barn, which housed horses and buggies, has been remodeled inside
to provide meeting and office space. More

Gardens
A number of lovely gardens, lawns, and orchards
surround Heritage Museum’s historic buildings. Our formal rose garden and
our citrus groves are particularly prominent, but there are many other botanical
delights as well. Vibrant colors and sweet natural fragrances are a treat
for the senses no matter the season. More Details...
Black Smith
The Orange County Blacksmith Guild maintains
a working blacksmith shop at Heritage Museum. Although it is seldom in use
during Public Hours, a docent can open it on request for you to look inside,
and can provide basic information about it. Guild members hold classes in
the shop on Saturday mornings, and visitors are welcome to watch or to sign
up for the Guild themselves. More

Nature Area
The northeast portion of the museum’s property
has been set aside as a nature reserve. The area is relatively undeveloped,
but visitors are welcome to walk its trails. The last surviving freshwater
wetlands in Santa Ana are located in this reserve. A variety of wild creatures,
including coyotes, squirrels, raccoons, red-tailed hawks, egrets, gopher
snakes, and lizards, make their homes here or include the reserve in their
ranges. More Details...
